you make it sound like the ARP 2000 isn't a quality bolt. There is no reason to upgrade a rod bolt unless there is strict need to do so. The ARP 2000 material based on tq/stress loads are perfectly suited at handling the abuse. The same material is used in the domestic rods yet they use a different diameter bolt vs what we use. Thats the only difference.
I don't see anyone anywhere having rods breaking at lower power levels.
Just out of curiosity Brett...what rods are you using in your engine that you are building? I hope you realize that both Eagle/Scat rods are of the "off shore" variety and have GREAT success in enduring upper power levels. Both forgings are made in China but final machined here in the US. Maybe you are speaking about some other rod that I or no one else is familiar with but I can tell you for the dollar and for those that are looking to make 600-800HP...the Eagle/Scat brand rods are very capable of handling the job.
